Since it was launched 18 months ago MarketInvoice has helped over 100 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to raise funds. The firm’s co-founder, Anil Stocker, states that MarketInvoice aims to restore the balance of power between SMEs and financiers, and make invoice financing fairer. In this interview he explains how his firm’s innovative fundraising model works and highlights some of the benefits it can bring.
As a result of the Credit Crunch banks in the UK have cut their lending to SMEs dramatically, which means SMEs are having to look elsewhere to raise money. By auctioning off a portion of their invoices online, growing businesses can access the money they are owed by clients straight away, rather than having to wait for what can sometimes be several months with traditonal factoring facilities. This process allows firms to unlock the potential of their unpaid invoices and ensures that they receive a competitive deal.
