Invoice trading

MarketInvoice is the UK’s first and largest invoice trading platform, with over £25m traded and over £4m trading per month as of September 2012. Over 110 companies have traded invoices on MarketInvoice since inception.

Improved pricing of risk

Invoice trading on MarketInvoice aims to institutionalise selective invoice finance in one centralised marketplace. MarketInvoice offers investors a new way to trade invoices. Previously this trade was conducted bilaterally between customers and companies. But with the advent of MarketInvoice, companies may sell their invoices or receivables to many investors, driving down the cost of funding. A key advantage of this is that investors, sophisticated in the art of risk management, are better able to price invoices and diversify their portfolio.

Investors who know more about you

As each invoice placed for auction is assessed individually by MarketInvoice investors, it enables better pricing of invoices. MarketInvoice investors cover a diverse range of expertise, many of whom are also domiciled abroad. It means that when an invoice is posted on our platform, many of our buyers will have greater understanding of your business, industry and debtors than a traditional finance provider by drawing upon their experience of specific sectors and familiarity with firms based in regions outside of the UK.

The MarketInvoice offering

Marketinvoice is very different to the main alternative, which is factoring. Our three main advantages are flexibility, cost and scope. In terms of flexibility, using Marketinvoice you sell the invoices that you want, when you want. Unlike traditional invoice discounting, there is no obligation to discount your entire debtor ledger, and no lengthy lock-in periods.

  • Marketinvoice puts you back in control of your cash flow
  • It is lower cost, because by only selling selected invoices you avoid expensive arrangement fees and monthly service charges

By building up a track record of successful invoice trades in the marketplace you drive down your cost of funding as investor buyers compete more keenly for your business.
